Green Thumbs Up For Green Thumb

We all studied Botany and we all know that Botany is subdivided into a lot of minor branches such as Dendrology, Bryology, Pomology, and a lot of other words that end in “ology” but I will talk about the day I set a new perspective on Horticulture. It’s different from the other branches – not just because it doesn’t end with “ology” – because while most of the others deal with plant care, Horticulture focuses on plant cultivation. At first, it may seem pointless, and I thought so too, until I joined Green Thumb, a club in which they get creative with plants.

Finally, after debating with my partner about who should ask permission to enter, the first thing I noticed were the pots. They were very unique and colorful – almost to a point where it becomes iridescent. I asked a club member on what they were supposed to do and she told me that they were required to decorate flower pots and arrange their self-brought plants in an attractive manner. They were also given some chopped pieces of bamboo and some polymer balls to be placed in a pot in a decorative way.

Have I not lost my phone, I would have been able to post some pictures of some very unique and creative creations of some of the club members. Some flower pots were designed with complicated designs while others thought that simple was the key. There were also pots shaped like human faces and wine bottles.

Green Thumb really helped me realize the fun of plant cultivation after helping a needing club member. Minutes before entering the club room, I thought that Horticulture was useless, but minutes after exiting, I realized that it’s not only done to make plants pleasing to the eye, but also for the fun of meddling with plants.

Thumbs up to those gifted people with green thumbs in Green Thumb and may they continue smiling while arranging plants. By the way, read the first word of each paragraph for a bonus.
