Year One Recap

Well, before I bid farewell, let me just recap the year this blog has been alive.

BHdrivethru (as obvious as it is) is the title of this community blog you are viewing right now. Drive Thru, on the other hand, makes our blog like a "mini stop" for whenever you're craving food or just want to feed your boredom. BH stands for "Bloggers Hub" - a club that is the reason why this blog exists in the first place. BH wasn't really supposed to be included, but with the domain name taken, the community blog authors decided to add it.

As mentioned in the early past, Bloggers Hub is a club which is pretty self explanatory. It is about blogging and not just simply constructing a blog, but specifically a community blog... which is also pretty self-explanatory.

Community Blog (n) /kəˈmyo͞onədē/  /bläɡ/
A blog set up for multiple people to post to.

BHdrivethru was established on the 30th of September, 2014 in which the first ever post that was publicized at exactly 6:59 am concerns the topic of food. The community blog authors wished to bring hunger to viewers and maintain the frequency of the posts, however they did not completely succeed. Maybe they were afraid of what people think about their posts, or they were just plain lazy (if so... -___-) . There is much to learn about this, but we shall discuss this concern further as time goes by.

Another flaw that you might have noticed is the Christmas video. It was not posted on Christmas as intended however, it was posted on the 8th of January which means that the post was so outdated. If you read this little history and sort-of-but-not-really-rant, kudos to you. You may now proceed. ;)

What I've Learned from Blogging

Blogging is fun and I've learned a lot of things. It's a learning experience and it's fun to be part of BH.
All I need is my imagination to make a blog.
Blogging is enjoyable.
It's an excellent activity. You learn a lot and you're also having fun.
I can post my opinions. I can have a voice. I don't really need to go with the flow all the time.
I get to see a lot of nice things all over the community.
Blogging connects you with other people.
It's ok to say out what you want to say. You'll be fine.

Green Thumbs Up For Green Thumb

We all studied Botany and we all know that Botany is subdivided into a lot of minor branches such as Dendrology, Bryology, Pomology, and a lot of other words that end in “ology” but I will talk about the day I set a new perspective on Horticulture. It’s different from the other branches – not just because it doesn’t end with “ology” – because while most of the others deal with plant care, Horticulture focuses on plant cultivation. At first, it may seem pointless, and I thought so too, until I joined Green Thumb, a club in which they get creative with plants.

Finally, after debating with my partner about who should ask permission to enter, the first thing I noticed were the pots. They were very unique and colorful – almost to a point where it becomes iridescent. I asked a club member on what they were supposed to do and she told me that they were required to decorate flower pots and arrange their self-brought plants in an attractive manner. They were also given some chopped pieces of bamboo and some polymer balls to be placed in a pot in a decorative way.

Have I not lost my phone, I would have been able to post some pictures of some very unique and creative creations of some of the club members. Some flower pots were designed with complicated designs while others thought that simple was the key. There were also pots shaped like human faces and wine bottles.

Green Thumb really helped me realize the fun of plant cultivation after helping a needing club member. Minutes before entering the club room, I thought that Horticulture was useless, but minutes after exiting, I realized that it’s not only done to make plants pleasing to the eye, but also for the fun of meddling with plants.

Thumbs up to those gifted people with green thumbs in Green Thumb and may they continue smiling while arranging plants. By the way, read the first word of each paragraph for a bonus.
